Plot
Psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud invites Professor K.S. Lewis to discuss the existence of God, Freud’s unique relationship with his daughter and Lewis; unconventional relationship with his best friend’s mother.. 30 years before this film, Anthony Hopkins had portrayed K.S. Lewis. Lewis is shown studying the gospels while a woman who appears to be his wife calls to bed him.

He passes Anna Freud (Liva Lisa Freese) on her way to a lecture and wonders if she will reveal her lesbian affair to her father.

Meanwhile, the two men attack each other’s philosophical beliefs. And it’s a movie, two men talking, occasionally interrupted by flashbacks to their youth and an airstrike to give the scene some cinematic credibility. In this fictional scenario – although the story is that shortly before his death Freud was visited by an Oxford don, the claim that it was Lewis is a fabrication of the play and the film – they argue with each other, and in the end I agree only that people are afraid of death. The rest… well, Freud’s beliefs are at the end of his life (he died three weeks after the supposed events of this film), while there are many things Lewis said into his twenties.

science, it is conflict-free; as smarter people than I have stated, science is about how, not why. Both men are excellent actors and translate the script into natural sounding words with ease. I have no idea if Hopkins' the accent is a good Viennese accent; Kohli Calhoun is listed as the dialect coach.
